You Can Keep Your Fuckin' Crumbs...

New Jersey is just one more casualty of bowing to the right-wing's desire to keep marriage as a special right for straight people only.

What do they want? A thank-you? So you approved fuckin' civil unions. Big fuckin' whoop. Tell me, what's a civil union, eh? Does it get Rich my Social Security benefits if I were to suddenly die? Does it ensure that he doesn't have to "buy out" my half of the house if I die? Or me his? Does it guarantee that if I were in a coma he would be the sole person to make my medical decisions? It's also not recognized as marriage anywhere else in the world for that matter. Cause it isn't. It's nothing.

"But it's the "M" word," you whine. "God intended marriage for straight, monogamous people only!" you cry. Horse shit, and you know it.

You can keep your fuckin' crumbs, New Jersey. I wasn't happy when Vermont offered them, and it doesn't cut the mustard now. Never will, if you really want to know. Separate but equal is not equal, and you know it. It also scares the shit out of you, doesn't it? You hide behind sky god, you hide behind "tradition," but you won't federally ban it, and you know why? Cause you know it isn't right to discriminate simply because you find something "icky." Be honest, that's what it boils down to, doesn't it? Unless it's lesbians, then you're all hot and bothered, thinking they're just dying to get with you. But gays? It offends your sense of "manliness," makes you uneasy. You find it "icky," but have the convenient sky god of your own making to say it's icky for you. Guess what, fundie? The only person you're screwing is yourself. (Which, of course, is incestuous, self-mutilating gay sex...) You know society isn't hurt. Just your "ick" factor...

I will be married. In Pennsylvania. In my hometown. Before my friends and family, with my husband.

Until then, keep your fuckin' crumbs. You'll need them as a consolation on my wedding day, when you find out that your relationship isn't special--it's exactly the same as mine. And though it scares the ever-lovin' shit out of you, it's something you're going to have to get used to. Just like your closed-minded friends of old who had to get used to those "icky" blacks voting, to those "simple-minded" women voting and owning property.

Well this "icky" gay is going to be married.

And there's nothing you can do to stop it.

Cause you know you're wrong.

And that's what's even scarier for you...

Congrats! When is the wedding? Or did you mean that in a "I'll get you next time, Gadget...Next time!" sort of way?

You cannot 'marry' your 'lover'. Marriage between two men is illegal, not to mention immoral. It's your blog, so you cant rant and rave all you want, but you will never be legally married with the full rights of marriage. Maybe you should consider switching sides if you want to get married.

I can. And I will.

I could move to Massachusetts, but that's too far from my family.

I could move to Canada, South Africa, the Netherlands--but all too far.

Marriage will come to Pennsylvania.

And I will be happy and you will be sad. So sad.

And I'm sorry, but "switching sides" is the silliest argument I've heard in a long time... Did you ever "chose" to be straight? What made you "choose" that side?

I'll wait patiently for your answer...

And Darkimnd? LOL, yes, more "Gadget" than anything else...

Lynn A: I can only assume the "A" stands for Ass.

Jason: I am crossing my fingers and putting the pro-gay marriage message out there for my friends Flint & John, Scott & Paul, my lesbian cousin Penny & her love, You & Rich, and many many more.

People are speaking from ignorance when it comes to issues of difference. Anyone whose ever befriended a gay couple and/or been to their home, know that homosexual relationships are absolutely no different than heteros.

Guess what Lynn? They love, argue and make-up just like you do! They go to bed and hold each other and talk just like you do! The only thing they do differently than you is make love. As for the "ick" factor, some of my freaky hetero friends do more foreign things in the bedroom than anal sex...which is nothing compared to some things I've heard of. To each his/her own! What anyone does in the bedroom has nothing to do with the outside world.

Bottom line is this: there is someone for everyone out there. When those two people find each other, it's a beautiful thing. If you cannot celebrate it, then let it be.

Thanks, Dar! Those are some beautiful thoughts from a beautiful person.

As for you, Lynn, tell you what: If you go to hell, so will I. Deal? The only unnatural thing is believeing in a sky god and his so-called "eternal punishments." Funny how there are also homosexual animals, but no other that animals pray to sky god or worship him like you seem to. I wonder which is more unnatural? Hmm...

As much as you dislike it, we will be married. He is not my "friend," he is my husband, just not yet on paper. Whether you want to play semantics or not, we will be married. We are already in practice (not that I need much, LOL!) as it just comes naturally--Oops! There's that word again!

"Endless hell..." Ha! You make me laugh! It's good to know you fundies always have that good-old stand-by of hell to throw around. Otherwise you'd have nothing to argue with!

Lynn said: "No, the A does not stand for ass. I do; however, have an ass."

Yeah, on your shoulders.

I can only assume that the christian religion (particularly Baptist?) is what makes you believe the way you do, which is also unnatural. Without religious influence you wouldn't be so hateful. I'd like to know what makes you so special?

Lynn, do you realize that endless hell for Jason would be forcing him to marry a woman and live a lie, never really naturally loving her? Just as it would be endless hell for you to married to a lesbian? (assuming that you are a woman with a name like Lynn.)

hello jason, i didn't think i would have to much time to comment on anything because i would be doing other things but i am not feeling good and so i can take the time to read and type! :) you know the more i talk with you about this whole right to marry thing i understand why you want it so bad. as a Christian i do not see what it would hurt for you to get married. you know you will not have to worry that we wouldn't do anything to harm any rights rich has to any of your things or riches and if i have to i would send your ss check right to him. i would let him have his say if you do end up in a coma. just because you choose to live with a man and not a woman what right do i have to go against any wishes you and rich have for each other. your rights do not hurt my relationship at all with how i worship or my marriage or whatever else it supposed to do if you have that right. the more i see you and rich together i come to love him like he was my son. i love you and rich and i do pray for you both and i understand why you want this right not only for you and rich but for the other people that might not have the parents that don't give two hoots what rights others have or not. people like me who have known gay people know what can happen with families that fall apart because they can't handle the different way of life one or two of the kids might have. i will pray that they do see the sin in not just for that life but for other sins they could have going on. i would love that jason and rich would marry a girl but hey that is not what they want. do i understand this? no. do i like that they might not be what i think should be normal? no. but it is the path God put me on and them on. to have rights just to live and not feel that everything they both worked for will go to the state or to people they don't even know or whatever or whoever, well i understand that. i can see the sin in what i see in the Bible but i see the sin we all have but what i come to realize in fighting with my gay son and rich i see no end to getting them to change. loving them is what i feel God would want. the change for them both has to be on there own but i think the change for anyone who isn't following the teachings of what God lays out needs to start with them. God offers a different way of life. He doesn't throw things at people or argues or call names or hurt them into the life He has for them and straight people alike. God sent His Son to die for ALL of us and we need to see that when we start yelling at just one group of sinners. in Gods eyes sin is sin. giving them a right doesn't seem like a sin especially since i see alot of people who are supposed to be straight and shouldn't ever of got married in the first place. now maybe we should just take their rights away since they are sinners just like gay people are. explain to me as a Christian where i am wrong in thinking this way? i grew up hearing about all kinds of sin not just the gay sin! well, this is all i wanted to comment on. i wish i had the gift you have in typing out the words you seem to have. i will pray for you and rich but i will pray even more for the families that are torn apart when they have to face the whole gay thing and don't know how to handle it all. i do not think throwing people out of a so called Christain family is something God might not smile on and that is happening probably more than we all like to think. i also seen how people who are supposed to have the love of God in them and how they talk down to gay people. ATTITUDES! from some Christians are not right at all towards gays and straights alike! well, till you live through some things don't judge! love and prayers

Lynn A is exactly why I'd like to see special rights for all married people removed. "OOOOh, look at me! I'm special cause I have a piece of paper that says Marriage License on it!" Ugh, I can taste the bile. It's a state issued dog tag to track and categorize you Lynn. Giving people special rights makes them feel entitled. People with entitlement issues feel like they can tell everyone else how to live.

If we could strip away the state and fed rights for "traditional" marriage, there would be all sorts of avenues opened up for partnerships and co-ownership of property and wealth. Little attention would be paid to the orientation of a couple because no one will be specially entitled to anything because of it. Everyone will just have to take the responsibility to plan ahead.

Wishful thinking, huh?

No, the A does not stand for ass. I do; however, have an ass. And, regardless of 'gay marriage coming to PA' - Jason will never truly be 'married' to his 'friend'. It is unnatural and wrong - face it. I would not be sad because two gays got married - I would be sad because they are lost and on their way to endless hell.
